Kaya Imani is one of the most promising voices within the new generation of R&B in the Netherlands. She grew up in a musical family and learned to sing and play piano at an early age. Surrounded by a wide range of musical influences, she developed her love for R&B and soul, in which she found her own sound: narrative, honest, and vulnerable, with warm, contemporary productions.
In 2023, Kaya was selected for FunX Talent and released her debut EP 'Imani'. Her breakthrough followed in early 2024 with the viral hit 'Ben Met Je', quickly followed by 'Cruise Control' with Yssi SB. In May 2024, she won the FunX Award for Next Best, further confirming her growing impact. She writes the majority of her music herself, drawing on her own experiences, making her songs personal yet widely relatable. With her latest album 'Just A Girl' (2026), she explores the transition from girl to woman in today's world; a development that she brings to life in a new live show in which these different phases come together.
