De Helling and TivoliVredenburg present: múm. The iconic Icelandic electro-acoustic inventors who have been experimenting since the nineties.
Early 2001 the first rumours started to spread. Rumours about an Icelandic band that made music at least as enchanting as Sigur Ros; múm. A group of musicians with an equal love for electro-acoustic folk as Aphex Twin. Their debut album 'Yesterday Was Dramatic – Today Is Okay' was already well received by critics, but the follow-up 'Finally We Are No One' ensured their breakthrough with a wider audience and loud cheers from leading indie blogs. It was the starting signal for múm's rise to absolute connoisseur band.
Since then, the band has continued to explore its boundaries: rock instrumentation, broken classical melodies, glitchy stutter beats, ambient electronics, field recordings, bleeps, bloops… múm fuses it all into compositions that are as unlikely as they are beautiful. This fall, the band will release its first album in twelve years. In their own poetic words: “A collection of brave, colorful songs. Songs that tickle you like a feather in the wind.” We believe that right away. On November 21, they will tickle us with a load of new and familiar beautiful songs.
