Marko Hietala

Finnish metal artist and former Nightwish bassist – in 2024 he performed in our Ronda with ex-Nightwish frontwoman Tarja Turunen. Hietala is doing this tour under his own name, and he has plenty of power, as shown on his second solo album 'Roses From The Deep' (2025), the successor to 'Pyre Of The Black Heart' from 2020. Suitable for fans of vintage hard rock (the opener 'Frankenstein’s Wife' sounds like an Alice Cooper hit), but prog rock, folk metal and symphonic metal also find their place on this record, the best Finnish product since Salmari!
