The young Dutch indie folk artist Melle (called ‘De beste zanger van Nederland’ by Douwe Bob) has an old soul: nostalgia is an important theme in his work. Debut album Memories That I Am (2023) shows influences from Sufjan Stevens via Phoebe Bridgers to Sam Fender, but still mainly sounds like Melle. Analog synths and obscure instruments are his preference, including the Stylophone, the hammered dulcimer and the cigar box guitar. On January 30 Melle’s second album Before I Lose It will be released, so expect tonight besides many instruments also much new work! There are only standing places at this concert.
