MEROL

MEROL makes Dutch-language pop that is direct and doesn’t beat around the bush. Since her breakthrough in 2018 she writes songs that revolve around sex, power, shame and self-determination. It is sharp, funny and straight to the point. Her music leans on synthpop and electronics, with lyrics that stick because they say what you often think but don’t say out loud. MEROL is energetic and outspoken. No distance, no ironic game: she stands in the middle of the room and pulls you in. Her live shows are danceable, loud and sometimes awkward in a good way.

In 2026 the pop star sounds different than before. On 'Leve de Feeks' her sound shifts toward electropunk, with influences from rock and techno. The beats are harder, the edges sharper. Together with producer Jeroen De Pessemier she makes music that feels more physical: more drive, more noise, more room for anger and pleasure at the same time. On this record MEROL claims the word 'feeks' for herself and uses it as she wants. Exactly as you expect from her.
