On Sunday, December 14, 2025, we celebrate life and all its layers. Packed to the brim with post-punk, metal, and punk, inspiring talks, and special attention for everyone who has ever felt out of place. After the passing of HOOFS frontman, our friend, and diva Ramón van Geytenbeek, we saw the alternative music community come together. We want to share this support with each other and with you at EKKO. Featuring performances by six emerging and established punk and metal bands:
Bowl:
This five-piece band from Utrecht brings a fresh atmosphere that embraces the post-punk genre. They deliver atonal, disorienting guitar riffs, sharp lyrics, tight drums and bass, and, above all, a tremendous energy that resonates throughout the venue.
Femme Fugazi.
Wandering between a manic episode and cathartic obsession, where echoing post-punk and frenetic garage punk alternate in a danse macabre of contradictions, that, in simple terms, is the Nijmegen band Femme Fugazi. In other words: Anne Clark meets Amyl & The Sniffers!
HOOFS,
with their hard-hitting combination of punk, noise, and post-punk, was previously described as "not for the faint of heart." But nothing could be further from the truth. Their energetic live shows are about celebrating life and creating an environment where you can truly be yourself. Gritty basslines, pounding drums, piercing guitars, and inescapable vocals. "Wimps" are welcome.
Melodic, heavy, and alienating: Ontaard
is a post-metal band from Utrecht. Expect black metal riffs, spoken word, and noise elements, fused into heartbreaking sounds.
Rats and Daggers:
A power trio that explores the razor-sharp edge between heavy and punk. Rats and Daggers fires rapid punk rock projectiles that instantly swell mosh pits. Live, they are both disarming and exceptionally expressive, with an energy so genuine that each fiery set offers a much-needed escape from the daily grind.
Special guests: to be announced
Out Of Place is a benefit event in collaboration with the 113 Suicide Prevention Fund . On this day, you too will be accepted, comforted, and thrown through the mosh pit. EKKO is the place tonight for people who normally feel out of place. You don't have to do it alone.
