The singer-songwriter duo Penny & Sparrow originated in the early 2010s from Austin, Texas. They combine rich harmonies with a modern sensibility, inspired by acts like Bon Iver and Mumford & Sons.

With the intention of letting go of all pretense and making room for experimentation, the gentlemen of Penny & Sparrow dove into a friend's garden shed and converted it into a studio, where they created a twenty-track album that feels grand, strange, and sometimes unexpected. The album was named 'Lefty'.

If 'Lefty' is anything, it is the diary of Penny & Sparrow's inner child. The corners dog-eared, the lock forced. The pages are filled with sketches of dreams, nightmares, eroticism, and literary fan fiction that stains the edges of poetry, melancholy, and love letters.

How to get to Tolhuistuin
Tolhuistuin formerly Paradiso Noord is located at IJpromenade 2 in Amsterdam North. A free ferry is departing from Amsterdam Central Station to Buiksloterweg. Turn left and you’ll walk into Tolhuistuin. For club nights, the rear entrance is used Buiksloterweg 5C, which can be reached via the Overhoeksplein.
