Born and raised in California, Iris Jenster was introduced to jazz at a young age, thanks in part to her parents, who are both successful jazz musicians. When she moved to the Netherlands at age twelve, she continued to develop her musical foundation and artistic voice.
Three years ago, Iris decided to focus entirely on music and began her studies at the HKU Conservatory. Following strong results in music theory and artistic development, she was admitted to the bachelor's program, where she has been studying full-time since September 2024. She is now known for her expressive phrasing, rhythmic fluidity, and versatile vocal sound. She performs frequently and regularly collaborates with other musicians within the jazz scene.
