RESISTING WATERS: Rondetafelgesprek

UMU15:0015,00

How does sound help us transform ecological uncertainty into tangible future scenarios, and how do we give a voice to the water itself? On Sunday, September 13, we come together to explore how collaborations between scientists and artists can help expand the imagination. For this panel, Gaudeamus joins forces with Urban Futures Studio of Utrecht University, a project that creates 'soft spaces' where imagination is stimulated through collaboration between social partners, policymakers, and science. Five specialists engage in conversation together. Exhibiting artist Mariko Hori and KWR Water Research Institute researcher Katja Berendse collaborated in a long-term residency at the water research institute and share their experience. Stijn Demeulenaere worked closely with scientists, including those from the Flemish Institute for the Sea. Political ecologist and sound artist Steve Williams (University of Oslo), also known as Drusnoise, explores how creative narratives change our relationship with mutating landscapes. Moniek Driesse (University of Antwerp) is a specialist in 'aquatic agency' and the fluid boundary between water, heritage, and design.
