During 'ROOFVOGEL', Paradiso's Upstairs Room transforms into a compartment in a special train car. The train travels from Amsterdam via Oud Kootwijk, Hildernisse, and Oterdum, tearing through moments of grief, loss, and support. Using a unique train ticket, the creators and the audience create an interactive theater play in search of an answer to the questions: How do you support someone? And how do you want to be supported? The fragmented piece is divided into four acts. To simulate a turbulent time, each scene dives into a different part of the grieving process. Central to this is the relationship between a grieving person and a supportive friend. How can the two understand and support each other mutually? The audience takes on both roles and gets to know each other through scripted presentations, interviews, and role-playing. This creates an original performance that leaves each traveler with an individual and collective experience. The performance is supported by acts from actor Yannick Bronkhorst and a trumpeter. Language is Dutch. Line-up: Rosa Hanssen, Lara van der Poel, Yannick Bronkhorst. Rosa Hanssen (25) and Lara van der Poel (23), both graduates of the Design Academy in Eindhoven, present their second theater show at Paradiso. Building on the experiences of their first piece, 'ROOFVOGEL' embraces an innovative form of theater involving the audience actively in the performance. They hope to lower the barrier of acting play. This time, that threshold is at the doorstep of Paradiso.
