During 'ROOFVOGEL', the Upstairs Room of Paradiso transforms into a compartment in a special train carriage. The train travels from Amsterdam via Oud Kootwijk, Hildernisse, and Oterdum, hurtling through moments of mourning, loss, and support. Guided by a unique train ticket, the creators together with the audience create an interactive theater play. Looking for an answer to the questions: How do you support someone? And how do you want to be supported? The fragmented piece is divided into four acts. To simulate a turbulent time, each scene dives into a different component of the mourning process. Central is the relationship between a grieving person and a supportive friend. How can the two understand and mutually support each other? The audience takes on the roles of both characters and gets to know each other through performing scripted monologues, interviews, and role-plays. This results in an original performance that leaves each traveler with both an individual and a collective experience. The performance is supported by acts from actor Yannick Bronkhorst and a trumpeter. Language is Dutch.
