Sekou
Originally from Leicester and now living in London, Sekou gained recognition at age 16 after posting videos on TikTok and Instagram, which eventually led to his breakthrough. Without releasing a single he was already tipped by the BBC as 'artist to watch' and played his first show at Glastonbury. There is no doubt that the 21-year-old Sekou Sylla from Leicester has a monumental future ahead of him. He grew up in the church and developed an appreciation for gospel music; his powerful vocal ability finds its origin there. Sekou has already worked with people such as Pharrell, Justin Bieber, Anderson .Paak and Bruno Mars. His rich, bass-filled vocals hit with raw power and emotion over striking, stripped-down piano arrangements and combine classic soul with contemporary pop. In 2023 his breakthrough single 'Better Man' made its debut in the BBC Introducing tent at Glastonbury. Now Sekou is starting a new chapter. His new single 'Catching Bodies' shows a playful, feelgood approach to modern dating culture and gives a preview of what's to come.
