Originally from Leicester and now living in London, Sekou rose to prominence at 16 after posting videos on TikTok and Instagram, which ultimately led to his breakthrough. Without a single song released, he was already being named an "artist to watch" by the BBC and performed his first show at Glastonbury. There's no doubt that 21-year-old Sekou Sylla from Leicester has a monumental future ahead of him. Raised in church, he developed an appreciation for gospel music; his powerful vocals are rooted there. Sekou has collaborated with the likes of Pharrell, Justin Bieber, Anderson .Paak, and Bruno Mars. His rich, bass-laden vocals pack a raw punch and emotion over striking, stripped-down piano arrangements, blending classic soul with contemporary pop.
In 2023, his breakthrough single "Better Man" debuted in the BBC Introducing tent at Glastonbury. Now, Sekou is embarking on a new chapter. His new single "Catching Bodies" offers a playful, feel-good approach to modern dating culture and a taste of what's to come.
