Twin sisters Mercedes and Phoenix create 'riotgaze' with their project Softcult – a mix of grunge, shoegaze, lo-fi and alternative rock, with influences from the riot grrrl movement from the '90s. The duo uses music as a weapon and a shelter: a place where they convert their frustrations about injustice, inequality and stereotypical gender roles into dreamy but sharp sound waves that confront and comfort. On Wednesday 19 November they will be in Patronaat with Glazyhaze as support!

In March 2023, they released the EP See You in the Dark , inspired by bands such as My Bloody Valentine and Cocteau Twins. This EP was nominated for the Juno Award for Alternative Album of the Year in 2024. Their most recent EP, Heaven , was released in May 2024 and explores themes such as society's obsession with the afterlife and the contradictions of everyday life.

Glazyhaze
Glazyhaze are a Venetian band that weaves dreamy shoegaze with alternative rock and subtle Britpop influences. Their second album SONIC, released in March 2025, shows an intimate and layered sound in which love and self-discovery are central. The music moves between light and dark, both thematically and sonically, and confirms their place as a band that knows how to combine atmosphere and emotion in a compelling way.
