The Hague Blues returns to PAARD for an afternoon full of raw blues, boogie, shuffle, and musical surprises of international top class!
Red Red (USA/BE)
A unique and adventurous mix of psychedelic blues, seventies rock, soul, turntablism, and roots music. With musicians from America and Belgium, Red Red creates a sound entirely their own, which they describe as “Psychedelic Turntable Blues”. Expect the unexpected!
Bas Paardekooper Trio
Named Best Dutch Blues Musician of 2024. With his authentic playing style, great songs, and impressive live reputation, Bas demonstrates why he belongs to the absolute top of the Dutch blues world.
The Cards (UK/NL)
An explosive power trio featuring none other than Paul Quinn, founder and guitarist of the legendary Saxon. After 45 years of touring with this band, he is taking things a bit easier and making blues rock with singer/bassist Harrison Young and drummer Koen Herfst.
Livin' Blues + Special Guest: Erwin Java
A living legend of Dutch blues history. Led by co-founder Nicko Christiansen, Livin' Blues still delivers that recognizable mix of blues, boogie, and shuffle. The band (with Loek van der Knaap on guitar, Thomas Toussaint on harmonica, Leon Coenjaarts on bass, fill-in drummer Koen Herfst, and The Bluezettes: Jane Goulding and Anoushka de Wolff) is in absolute top form and recently released their new EP 'Back on Track'. Special guest this afternoon is none other than Erwin Java, another legend known from Cuby and the Blizzards and numerous blues projects, among others. A unique combination that guarantees fireworks!
During the walk-in and all changeovers, host Wim Behre Platendraaier provides the soundtrack for the afternoon with the finest blues, soul, and rock records straight from vinyl.
