THE JAMES BROWN EXPERIENCE is an international live production that celebrates the explosive legacy of James Brown and on Sunday 17 January they come to Patronaat! The show marks 20 years since his death and dives deep into the legendary repertoire of the Godfather of Soul.

With The New Soul Generals, a 9-piece funk orchestra with musicians who previously worked with among others Jamiroquai, Stevie Wonder, Amy Winehouse and Mark Ronson, all the big hits come by, from 'I Feel Good' to 'Sex Machine' and 'Papa's Got a Brand New Bag'. Presented in collaboration with The James Brown Family Foundation this is an energetic, authentic and danceable evening full of funk, soul and live energy.

James Brown is globally recognized as one of the most influential artists in music history. His unique combination of funk, soul, rhythm, dance and social power inspired generations of artists. Michael Jackson called James Brown his greatest example, while countless hiphop, R&B and pop artists have sampled and reused his music. His influence is to this day visible in music, dance, performance and stage energy.
