With their fifth studio album Dear God The Pretty Reckless reaches a new artistic peak. The foundation for the band was laid when Taylor Momsen at the age of fourteen decided to devote her future entirely to rock 'n' roll. Together with guitarist Ben Phillips she built a band and a sound that never adapted to the usual rules of the contemporary music industry. From the beginning one principle was central: the song always comes first. The band's entire discography was therefore written by Momsen and Phillips, a creative independence that became decisive for both their music and the band's identity. With their debut album Light Me Up which included the #1 rock hit Make Me Wanna Die The Pretty Reckless immediately set a clear tone. After intensive worldwide touring the band definitively broke through with the second album Going to Hell. That album debuted at number 5 on the Billboard 200 and produced three #1 hits on American rock radio including the well-known Heaven Knows which was at the top for no less than eighteen weeks. The subsequent album Who You Selling For also brought success again with the #1 hit Take Me Down. In 2020 the band returned with Death by Rock and Roll. The album reached the top of the album charts in eleven countries and produced three #1 hits on rock radio in the United States. This established a record for The Pretty Reckless: never before had a rock act with a female front person achieved so many #1 songs both solo and in band context. The success led to stadium performances around the world with AC/DC and shared stages with legendary acts such as The Rolling Stones and Foo Fighters. Now more than five years after their previous album Dear God heralds a new chapter for The Pretty Reckless. The first single For I Am Death became their eighth #1 hit on rock radio. With raw honesty and renewed energy the band shows that it is back stronger than ever.
