Tyn Wybenga (1993) is the creative linchpin of contemporary Dutch jazz and was hailed by NRC as the ‘future jazz conductor of today.’ With his own Brainteaser Orchestra, he crafts a boundary-pushing mix of jazz, hip-hop, electronics, and classical music, weaving samples and improvisation into cinematic soundscapes.

Having previously collaborated with icons like Ambrose Akinmusire and the Metropole Orkest, Wybenga finds his greatest inspiration within the Amsterdam scene. His style is best described as a meeting between Frank Zappa, Miles Davis, and J Dilla: raw, fresh, and always unpredictable. At Tolhuistuin, he presents music that transcends genres and resolutely pushes the limits of the orchestral landscape.
