Toontje Lager, one of the most popular Dutch-language bands of the early eighties, is back on stage after more than thirty years with a new line-up, but with singer Erik Mesie.

Under Erik's inspiring leadership, you can once again enjoy hits like "Just Like in the Movies," "So Much to Do," and of course, "Secretly Danced." But the lesser-known repertoire is also well-represented, such as "Sooner or Later," "Spring in Twente," "In Thoughts," and "It Hurts." And what about the sensitive "Without You," Erik's solo hit from 1986?

In addition, a new album entitled “Waar gaan we heen” (Where are we going) was released in early 2023, containing 15 songs that sound typically Toontje Lager, if only because of Erik's characteristic voice.

Furthermore, at the end of 2022, work began on the remastering of the three most important Toontje Lager LPs, namely:

“Make it or break it”

“secretly dancing”

“Even good friends”

The remastered releases will be released digitally as well as on vinyl in 2023.

Finally, it should be mentioned that Erik is participating in a new TV music program entitled “Het DNA van de Nederpop” which will be broadcast in 2023.
