Total Joy
After years of being active as a musician, including as a member of Indian Askin, Bart van der Elst is starting a new, personal chapter with Total Joy. Under this name, he creates songs that float between the nostalgia of 70s folk, early psychedelia, and contemporary indie.
For Total Joy's debut album, Van der Elst gathered a group of musician friends around him, each adding their own unique color to the songs. The result is a personal and layered album that makes room for both melancholy and lightness, and in which influences from various musical eras come together in a contemporary sound.
Total Joy's debut album will be released on January 8, 2027. On the same day, the release will be celebrated with a show at De Nieuwe Anita in Amsterdam.
