The intense folk/alternative rock of American singer/guitarist Kristin Hersh was not written for the charts – yet she scored a Top 40 hit in 1994 with the hypnotic *Your Ghost* (a duet with Michael Stipe of REM). By then, Hersh had already been in the rock business for ten years with her band Throwing Muses (whose eleventh album, *Moonlight Concessions*, was released last year). She herself has now also reached her eleventh album: *Clear Pond Road* came out in 2023. After all these years, the work of this cult icon of alternative rock remains as personal as it is uncompromising!
