Psychedelic, Thai-funk

YĪN YĪN is known for their psychedelic sound: disco, electronica, and a journey through colorful Thai funk from the past. They create a largely instrumental sound with a unique set of instruments, including vintage synthesizers and a traditional Chinese string instrument, the guzheng. The group originated in an experimental jam session in a remote village ballet school, which resulted in the successful debut album 'The Rabbit That Hunts Tigers' (2019), followed by 'The Age Of Aquarius' (2022) and in 2024 'Mount Matsu' was released with which they already played in a sold-out Main Hall. In January 2026, the successor 'Yatta!' will be released. A major influence is the sound of Italo Disco - the cosmic, psychedelic variant of disco that originated in Italy in the late 1970s and flourished in the 1980s. This album contains a mix of club tracks and more relaxed sounds. 'We wanted to create a mix of energetic, danceable tracks that get a party going, but also tracks that take you on a journey and are more relaxed. Music to just chill, listen and enjoy.'
