In June 2026 the final will take place in the Grote Zaal of Paradiso. The winner of the Zonneprijs wins € 10,000. Who will follow in the footsteps of Elmer (winner 2022) and Hiqpy (winner 2023)?
Line-up:
Rindue
Rindue is the solo project of multi-instrumentalist Rens Meuwissen. He combines acoustic and electronic elements into a sound that immediately grabs attention. Influences from Parcels, Benny Sings and Still Woozy can be heard in his groovy songs with catchy lyrics. Live, Rindue is on stage with a five-piece band.
SAMIRA
SAMIRA storms the music scene with its raw, sunny, soulful mix of garage, rock 'n roll and psychedelic surf. The sound and spirit of the band are rooted in the groove of the sixties. Yet SAMIRA does not get stuck in nostalgia: with fierce expressiveness and pure surrender the band blows their sound into the present.
Rover Onslow
Rover Onslow is a twenty-year-old singer-songwriter who makes songs that range from acoustic folk to raw alt rock. Since 2022, Rover has been writing and playing in the Amsterdam-based band Chrysalis, an art rock band that mixes punk with folk influences. He is now focusing on his solo project, with a first EP in the making. His narrative lyrics and catchy melodies are sure to stick.
PROSE
The trio PROZA describes their sound as 'from 1980 to 2050'—a mix of postpunk, new wave and synthpop. In their music, sound and Dutch lyrics reinforce each other, inspired by artists such as New Order, Velvet Underground, Thom Yorke and The Brian Jonestown Massacre. Their first EP, Aphrodite, is a triptych in which they search for answers that are left to the imagination.
