After a memorable anniversary year – crowned with a sold-out show at Tolhuistuin – Zuco 103 returns in 2027 with a brand-new album in our Main Hall. A new chapter in the impressive career of the Amsterdam pioneers of Brazilectro, who have been pushing musical boundaries for over twenty-five years. Mais Além – Zuco103’s tenth studio album – demonstrates that the band is far from finished. The music pulls you onto the dance floor: pulsating grooves alternate with cinematic sounds, where cinematic vistas and melancholically sparkling vocals merge in an odyssey of electronic grooves and Brazilian jazz vibes.
Brazilectro sound
Zuco 103 was founded in 1999 by Dutch drummer Stefan Kruger, German keyboardist Stefan Schmid, and charismatic Brazilian singer Lilian Vieira. For over 25 years, this trio has managed to enchant audiences worldwide and break genre boundaries with their unique Brazilectro sound: a mix of Brazilian samba, bossa nova, and jazz, combined with experimental electronics and funky grooves. Remix projects and collaborations with international artists such as Joe Jackson and legendary reggae and dub producer Lee Scratch Perry have further enriched their sound over the years. Since their debut 'Outro Lado', Zuco 103 has released 9 studio albums worldwide. For the album 'Telenova' (2024), the band received an Edison Award in the Jazz Global category. Their dynamic live shows have previously taken the band to international stages and festivals such as Lowlands, Pinkpop, Rock Werchter, Montreux Jazz Festival, Glastonbury, Fuji Rock, and multiple editions of the North Sea Jazz Festival.
