On October 17, Veya takes the stage at Patronaat. As a singer, violinist, songwriter, and producer, this Haarlem-based multi-instrumentalist creates a distinctive mix of alternative pop, classical influences, and modern electronics. Inspired by artists such as AURORA, Hozier, and Maggie Rogers, the music moves from intimate, vulnerable moments to cinematic climaxes, carried by sweeping strings, soulful rhythms, and subtle electronic details.
After working as a session musician and songwriter for nearly a decade, Veya celebrates the release of her debut EP 'Silence in the Storm' this evening. In it, she explores resilience in times of adversity. Central to the album is the idea that you cannot control what the world throws your way, but you can control how you respond to it. With the aid of her instrument collection, live looping, and a second multi-instrumentalist, Veya will bring her productions back to an intimate live setting, in search of silence, strength, and connection.
