José González
Swedish-Argentinian singer-songwriter
The Swedish-Argentinian singer-songwriter José González became world-famous 21 years ago when his acoustic cover of the song "Heartbeats" (The Knife) was used in a Sony commercial with 250 thousand bouncy balls. González’s source of inspiration is clearly audible: the subdued English folk of the late 1960s, with Nick Drake as standard-bearer. Like his personality, González’s musical work is introverted—yet he always manages to deeply affect his listeners. Expect many new songs tonight, because on 27 March his fifth album Against The Dying Of The Light will be released!
