Danceable hope, that is the best way to describe Joshua Idehen's music. This poet/philosopher/songwriter sees music as an outlet for his existential anxieties, and uses the power of the club to spread a universal message. A message of love. And he does so without sounding preachy.

Joshua Idehen's unique music is not spoken word, it is not dance. It is the harsh reality banging on your front door to the rhythm of a house beat. A sound with which he became the sensation at ESNS, and was already invited to perform at Glastonbury last year. And his debut album has only just been released. Together with his Swedish longtime bestie Ludvig Parment, he wrote the beautifully titled I Know You're Hurting, Everyone Is Hurting, Everyone Is Trying, You Have Got To Try. A collection of urgent club bangers with which he comes to De Helling on November 18, to let us dance away all our weltschmerz.
