The German band Obscura has been making its mark for nearly twenty-five years with their technical death metal in the spirit of 90s greats like Death and Cynic. To celebrate the finest guitar shredding within the extreme metal genres, the band has joined forces with the touring festival Shred Fest. Editions have already taken place in America and Australia/New Zealand; now it is Europe's turn!
The lineup brings an extensive package, including Pestilence : since 1986, this Dutch legend has been at the cradle of the technical death metal genre. New blood comes from the British thrash/technical death band Cryptic Shift (their new album Overspace & Supertime has just been released on Metal Blade), the progressive metal band Thus from Denmark, and as the opener, the new French metal band DVRK . Naturally, Obscura will close this metal party themselves; expect an overdose of guitar riffs at top speed!
