His raw voice is his trademark, and musically, he's somewhere between Steve Earle, Woody Guthrie, Johnny Cash, and Billy Bragg. Otis Gibbs' performances are an experience in themselves, not only because of his powerful delivery but also because of the unique and often hilarious stories he tells throughout. His songs are about real people: the wanderers and other nomads he met on his travels, the people of rural Indiana where he grew up, the unexpected heroes from the slums, or the everyday things he sees around him in East Nashville. Besides music, Otis also has a popular podcast radio show called "Thanks For Giving A Damn," in which he interviews colleagues in the scene. In the fall of 2025, he released The Trust Of Crows, another sublime album full of gritty road songs.
