Three singer-songwriters each shine a different light on the world in the intimate setting of The Intimate Sessions, the bimonthly singer-songwriter evening on our smallest stage in the central hall, at Café Het Gegeven Paard. The evenings are free to attend.
Norah Rhodes:
Norah Rhodes is a young synth-pop artist who knows how to fascinate you with her songs. With her authentic style and often vulnerable storytelling, she manages to create an intense connection with her listeners. Her individuality can be heard in the dreamy, sometimes melancholic atmosphere of her songs. In her self-produced tracks, you hear many electronic and atmospheric elements that take on a rawer edge live. With 500,000 streams on her debut EP, Norah shows that she has even more in store than the artist, not yet twenty years old, has shown so far.
Maya Vero:
Maya Vero is a pop/folk artist who combines intimate storytelling with a cinematic, atmospheric sound. Drawn to the stage from a young age, she creates music that moves between emotion and sincerity. Her work switches effortlessly between warm, acoustic arrangements and richer, layered productions, always driven by her strong sense of storytelling and imagination. Her lyrics form the heart of everything she creates. For her, writing is a way to give weight and meaning to emotions, especially when words fail. A folk songwriter with both feet firmly planted in the songwriting tradition of greats like Leonard Cohen, Jason Molina, and Damien Jurado. With his reflective lyrics on current topics, he gives the listener the opportunity to put their finger on the sore spot. Live, Jacob D. Edward is best described as a ragged romantic who brings forth a wide spectrum of emotions. In this, he takes his audience seriously and together they explore the boundaries of music, lyrics, and performance.
