Dutch-Surinamese singer, known for e.g. Leun Op Mij. The Dutch-Surinamese singer Ruth Jacott has been in the business for over forty years, but proved in 2025 with her successful open-air theatre tour that she has more energy than ever. Jacott broke through in the 1990s and scored no fewer than eleven Top 40 hits that decade, with 'Blijf Bij Mij', 'Vrede' (with which she finished sixth at the Eurovision Song Contest) and 'Leun Op Mij' among the best-known.
