The English band The Crazy World Of Arthur Brown scored in 1968 a world hit with the legendary song Fire, a psychedelic rock opera of just under three minutes. Although further hits failed to materialize, the music and especially the exuberant stage presentation of frontman Arthur Brown have been an unmistakable influence on later (shock) rock acts such as KISS, Alice Cooper, and Marilyn Manson. Not that Brown needs those theatrical tricks and flamethrowers: with his mighty four-octave voice alone, he captivates every audience. After all these years, Arthur Brown is still on fire!
