The American singer/multi-instrumentalist Rhiannon Giddens first made her mark in the mid-2000s as the frontwoman of the Americana quartet Carolina Chocolate Drops. Ten years later, she released her solo album Tomorrow Is My Turn (2015). Giddens has a powerful voice and plays the banjo and guitar virtuously, qualities that are also reflected on her latest (sixth) album What Did The Blackbird Say To The Crow (2025, with fiddle player/singer Justin Robinson), where she returns to the 'string band' tradition.
