DOUBLE BILL FULL OF LIVED INDIE FOLK ORIGINATING FROM BEDROOM PROJECTS lots of hands consists of Billy Woodhouse and Elliot Dryden, two friends working from Newcastle on one of the most heartfelt indie folk sounds of the moment. After years of exchanging demos from a distance and releasing records separately, 'into a pretty room' is their first truly collaborative work. The album is a collage of reworked demos, electronic instrumentals, and whispered ballads about grief, growing up, and letting go. The songs are soft and hopeful at the same time, created by two friends who have been helping each other through life for years. Sundots Drew Collins started Sundots in 2019 with a demo and a guitar he had just learned to play. Since then, he has gathered friends from the Connecticut DIY scene around him and found his own sound that blends freak-folk, ambient, slowcore, and indie rock in a way that feels sincere and playful. Lyrics flow out like thoughts spoken aloud without filter. On the most recent album 'Honeyspot' (2024), Collins reflects on youth, love, and fantasy. What began as a bedroom project is slowly expanding into the world and is coming to take over EKKO this fall.
