Vive la Fête was founded in Ghent in 1997 by Els Pynoo and Danny Mommens. Their mix of electronic music, new wave, guitars, and French vocals quickly found an audience far beyond Belgium. With albums such as République Populaire and Nuit Blanche, the band achieved an international breakthrough. Songs like “Je Ne Veux Pas”, “Touche Pas”, “Maquillage”, and “Noir Désir” have been firm live favorites for years. Over the years, Vive la Fête has toured extensively throughout Europe and played in Russia, Japan, Mexico, Brazil, and other parts of Latin America.
The band also became closely associated with the fashion world after Karl Lagerfeld noticed them. This led to performances at Chanel events and international fashion shows. On stage, Els and Danny perform with a full live band. Electronics and synthesizers combine with drums, bass, and guitar.
In 2027, Vive la Fête places Nuit Blanche front and center in the live show once again. The album was released in 2003 and played a major role in the band's international breakthrough. Tour Blanche 2027 brings back Nuit Blanche, along with favorites from nearly thirty years of Vive la Fête.
